There were lots of products this year at CES (Computer Electronics Show) 2015, some gimmicky and some you wish you could back out your credit Card, Apple Pay enabled iPhone or Bitcoin wallet on your Android phone or whatever and purchase.
The product that I think fits that bill perfectly at CES 2015 was the (Franklin, 2015) SteelSeries Apex M800 Mechanical keyboard. Currently PC Sales are shrinking (Deer, 2014), but among the small minority who own PC’s, mechanical keyboards are making a comeback.
I know; I still use one on my Computer back home in Milk River, Clarendon as well as with my Laptop here in Swallowfield Community close to Arthur Wint Dr, near to the National Stadium.
SteelSeries Apex M800 Mechanical keyboard – Backlit keys and programmable Macros
But back to the SteelSeries Apex M800 Mechanical keyboard.
It’s got a really neat trick in that the keys are backlit when you press them, making this keyboard great for video gaming. It also has a large spacebar, albeit that’s not an issue for me, being as I like the spacebar to be small and compact.
It’s got a bevy of other features though that makes the ad sound like its being pitched to speedtypists instead of gamers!
Finally, it comes with five (5) customizable macro keys that can be programmed, albeit you can always get KeyTweak, a free Keyboard remapping tool to remap your keys on your keyboard.
Basically this is a gamers’ keyboard, not a typist and it’ll cost you US$99 to own come February 2015.
This is my first post-CES 2015 article for a product you can buy soon if not now. Thanks for reading!
