Samsung has released yet another product after their glitzy Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (Deer, 2015, August 19) launch at the Samsung Unpacked event on Thursday August 13th 2015.
The Internet for Samsung Galaxy Browser is optimized for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (Deer, 2015, August 19) and has only been available on Google Play since Monday August 24th 2015, several days after the Samsung Unpacked event. Yet Samsung never made any indication that they’d even launched this product and has kept very quiet about its existence.
It’s actually pre-installed on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and is called “Internet”.
There is no need to download it and oddly too, it cannot be used on models of Samsung Galaxy Smartphone older (Parnada, 2015, September 11) than this year’s model. It possesses Samsung Galaxy S6 features such as logging into websites using the fingerprint scanner and support for Samsung’s KNOX (Deer, 2015, February 4) security system.
Its existence confirms a report five (5) months ago by an Indonesian Tizen blog with close ties to Samsung. They’d claimed that Samsung had plans for a unified Browser. This latest revelation of the Internet for Samsung Galaxy Browser all but confirmed that this mythical unicorn exists.
But as to why Samsung is so quiet about it remains a mystery.
Still, it may just be another perk being quietly produced by Samsung to make their fledgling community of smartphones even closer. Or even more interestingly, it might be a launchpad for another service that Samsung plans to unveil come 2016.
