How Jamaicans with 5″ smartphone can make money using Apps

Hello fellow Jamaicans!!

There are many ways to make money on the internet. However, I’d be the first to admit that most of them focus on websites.

The main ones I’ve written about are surveys, both US based (Deer, 2016, December 17) and International (Deer, 2017, February 12) as well a file sharing websites (Deer, 2017, October 14). There is also Transcription, Captioning and translating videos (Deer, 2017, November 8) and webcam modeling (Deer, 2016, October 15) for the more adventurous.

But I’ve not done any apps that can make money online….until now.

How to make money with a smartphone – 5″ smartphone with 32GB of Internal Memory required

To make money online via apps requires you to have the following thing in place:

  1. A 5″ smartphone with 32GB of Internal Memory
  2. Paypal Account (Deer, 2015, September 9) as your main Payment Gateway
  3. Payoneer Account (Deer, 2015, September 10), an Bank of America Prepaid Debit Card
  4. Scotia VISA Debit (Deer, 2012, February 13) or CIBC First Caribbean VISA Debit Card
  5. Broadband Internet at home from FLOW or Digicel Play (Deer, 2016, June 28)
  6. Notebook or Journal to keep Track of all your Online Accounts and Passwords
  7. Portfolio of Published Written Work on a blog or Website online i.e. Blogs, e-books
  8. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) Connection
  9. A Friend or relative living abroad

Broadband Internet at home from FLOW or Digicel Play (Deer, 2016, June 28) is a must, as a Data plan cannot be used to make money online. A friend or relative abroad with a US address is also great.  But you can easily use your ShipMe (Deer, 2013, September 15) address to sign up.

You’ll need the Paypal Account (Deer, 2015, September 9) to be able to receive payments as most of these apps pay monthly or weekly. The Scotia VISA Debit Card (Deer, 2012, February 13) or CIBC First Caribbean VISA Debit Card is just to verify your Paypal Account. You can also use Amazon Prepaid Gift Card, if you have one!!

The Payoneer Account (Deer, 2015, September 10) is just a card you can attach to your Paypal account to withdraw locally to be able to spend locally. You can also get other cards (Deer, 2017, March 26) but Paypal and Payoneer are the best by far!!!

For some apps, you may need a free VPN on smartphones. The Opera Browser has a free one build in for Desktop computers (Deer, 2016, September 20), but there are many free and paid VPN Apps (Deer, 2017, June 11) that you can choose from.

Follow the steps in the video to download apps if you get an error saying “Device not compatible”.

So what are the apps that make the most money?

Types of Money Making Apps – Passive and Active

There are two types of money earning apps:

  1. Active
  2. Passive

Built mainly for Android users, the apps are as they are described; active means you have to do a task to make money, Passive means you just have the apps on your smartphone.

Active apps allow you to make money from doing tasks such as watching videos or clicking on ads, very similar to the PTC (Pay to Click) websites (Deer, 2017, June 11) I’ve written about before. A lot of them also pay you to download apps and even play games, making them a fun way to make money by doing what comes naturally to you.

Passive apps mainly allow you to make money by collecting data on your online activity on your smartphone, only this time you get a cut of the money they earn. They are fast and fun way to make money too; just install the app and makes sure you actively log on to the internet and let it do its thing.

You can see why having a 5″ smartphone with at least 32GB or Internal storage is so necessary; space to manipulate your fingers as well as store your apps is a must as a slow smartphone will only make money slower and cause your phone to crash!!!

Apps to make money – Active Apps and Passive Apps are great combo

So without further ado, here’s a list of the Active Apps you can install on your smartphone and start making money:

  3. Nielsen Mobile App
  4. Frequent Flyer Rewards

These a just a few you can install on your phone; thousands more exist and I’ll be dealing with them in future articles as 2018 is the year of the 5″ smartphone (Deer, 2017, December 29).

Remember they pay via Paypal or Amazon Prepaid Gift Cards; best to have a VPN (Deer, 2017, June 11) as you may need one to access some of these apps, as many may be region restricted.

Sharing is caring so share this blog post with all your friends and make more money in process.
